Good truck tires
I wanted to share my experience and thoughts on good truck tires. I own a Ford F250 and live in Colorado. The factory tires (Goodyear I think) were pretty much worthless in the snow, especially with a big heavy vehicle. So I replaced the factory tiers with BF Goodrich T/A's and moved up in size from 265 to 285. The difference was extraordinary! The BF Goodrich's have a very aggresive tread, but not so much that they compromise road performance. I saw no difference in gas mileage (although it's pretty low anyways with a V10), but the traction was phenomenally better. The first week I had them on I drove to the mountains through a severe blizzard. I put the truck in 4WD and the tires just chewed up the snow. I was able to plow up the mountain while people behind me literally just spun their wheels. I would highly recommend these tires for good everyday use in tough driving conditions. They probably won't help in the sand dunes, but they do great on snowy roads and normal off-road use. |
